The apologists for a “Peace-loving Islam” would like you to think that the Islamic Community is Detroit is little different than the Nicaraguan Community in Los Angeles. Don’t be deceived--Islam intends to capture the world for Allah. President Obama says over and over, “Islam is not our enemy.” He is wrong—we are Islam’s enemy and they are winning. Those who make a distinction between the Islam of Osama bin Laden’s homicidal sons of Allah and the Islam of the Imam trying to build a mosque near ground zero, are living in a cloud of smoke that begins with the a fire in the oval office, spreads to the politically correct left, is fanned by the useful idiots of the media, and will eventually burn us all alive.
Here is the pledge required of and made by Christians and Jews to Umar, the second caliph after Mohammad during his caliphate (634-644):
“We made a condition on ourselves that we will neither erect in our areas a monastery, church, or a sanctuary for a monk, nor restore any place of worship that needs restoration nor use any of them for the purpose of enmity against Muslims…We will not…prevent any of our fellows from embracing Islam if they choose to do so. We will respect Muslims , move from the places we sit in if they choose to sit in them. We will not imitate their clothing, caps, turbans, sandals, hairstyles, speech, nicknames and title names, or ride on saddles, hang swords on the shoulders, collect weapons of any kind or carry these weapons…We will not encrypt our stamps in Arabic, or sell liquor. We will have the front of our hair cut, wear our customary clothes wherever we are, wear belts around our waists, refrain from erecting crosses of the outside of our churches and demonstrating them in our books in public in Muslim fairways and markets. We will not sound the bells in our churches in the presence of Muslims…These are the conditions that we set against ourselves and followers of our religion in return for safety and protection. If we break any of these promises that we set forth for your benefit against ourselves, then our Dhimmah (promise of protection) is broken and you are allowed to do with us what you are allowed of people of defiance and rebellion.”
This pledge was required of all Christians and Jews who wished to live in lands conquered by Islam. It is based on Qur’an Sura 9:29 that the conquered “people of the Book” are to “feel themselves subdued.” (Another translation reads, “fight those…until they pay the tax in acknowledgement of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”) This option was not offered to pagans who either had to face conversion to Islam or execution by war.
For those who suggest this was the 7th century, here is a contemporary version of the same requirements contained in a sermon by Saudi Sheikh Narzouq Salem Al-Ghandi in September, 2002 reported in the Middle East Media Research Institute “Friday sermons in Saudi Mosques: Review and Analysis (www.memri.org). He is discussing the terms in which Muslim society will tolerate the presence of Non-Muslims in its midst:
“If the infidels live among the Muslims, in accordance with the conditions set out by the Prophet—there is nothing wrong with it providing they pay jizya (an annual tax on all infidels) to the Islamic treasury. Other conditions are, that they do not renovate church or monastery, do not rebuild ones that were destroyed, that they feed for three days any Muslim that passes their homes…that they rise when a Muslim wishes to sit, that they do not imitate Muslims in dress or speech, nor ride horses, nor own swords, nor arm themselves with any kind of weapon; that they do not sell wine, do not show the cross, do not ring church bells, do not raise their voices during prayer, that they shave their hair in front so as to make them easily identifiable, do not incite anyone against the Muslims, and do not strike a Muslim…If they violate these conditions, they have no protection (from the wrath of Islam).
Osama bin Laden is not part of a small fringe of lunatic fanatics—his only real sin is impatience. If the House of Saud were to move into the White House in Washington D.C and begin to rule America, this is exactly what Christians and Jews could expect, and bin Laden, all forgiven would be appointed Secretary of Homeland Security.

The Koran, Penguin Classics Edition translated by N.J. Dawood
This is one of the best translations for English readers. It takes some reorientation to read it. Rather than chronological, it is arranged in order the length of the verses said to have been given by Allah through Gabriel to Muhammad.
The Truth About Muhammad, Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch at the Freedom Center. Spencer is an expert in this area, his earlier book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam(and the Crusades) was a New York Times best seller. This is an excellent review of Muhammad’s life and his development from a preacher of hellfire and damnation into a political leader who expanded his rule through all of Arabia by force of arms before he died. One of the basic tenets of Islam is that Allah does not change, the Qur’an does not change, Islam does not change. There is very little difference between 7th century Arabia under Islam and 21st century Saudi Arabia under Islam.
Cracks in the Crescent, Hussein Hajji Wario. This is the story of a young Kenyan Muslim boy who converted to Christianity when he was a pre-teen. For the next 19 years his family, the neighbors and friends, and the Muslim religious authorities tried to undue his conversion. They failed and he finished his college education in America he learned that he would be killed if he returned to Kenya. Along the way this story reveals many interesting practices and fact about the practice of Islam seen from the inside, up close.
A-Z guide to the AHADITH, edited by Mokhtar Stork. A hadith is a saying or tradition of the Noble Prophet (Muhammad) There are a variety of these collections, many overlap one another. Each hadith is something Muhammad is supposed to have said, usually repeating what Allah had told him, along with a chain of authorities through who this saying can be traced. Most people will not want to invest in something like this. This particular collection was $10 on Amazon and was the only used one available. Originally there were 30,000 ahadith(plural) that scholars whittled down to 7,000 authentic ones. The value of a book like this is the way it illustrates the slap-dash nature of the Koran. Because Muhammad was illiterate, his understanding of the Torah, the Gospels and Zoroastrianism was marginal, based on second and third hand bits and pieces. This became more complex as time went on and Mohammad found he could settle his domestic and political disputes by simply getting a message from Allah. Much of the Ahadith is little more than explaining these confusions and inconsistencies.
We have already seen dhimmah, (the promise of protection) becoming a part of the foreign policy of this administration. Christians and Jews get short shrift, but Muslims get every consideration in order to elevate their self-esteem.
