A SMALL CHRISTMAS TALE

This morning I was doing some on-line banking and discovered that this weekend I apparently made 3 different $5.00 contributions to DNC BarackObama.com. I have cancelled my credit card and await a new one.

Thinking this through, I have come to the conclusion that my number and verification code was probably lifted at an out of town restaurant where we had lunch at last Thursday. This causes me to make several assumptions:

1. The thief is a Democrat. Only a self-righteous Democrat would have the gall to steal for his party--this has been known to happen more than once in the past. The Democrats believe all the money should belong to them and anyone who does not agree is fair game.

2. The thief has a good memory--my card was only out of my sight when it was being charged, so he or she must have memorized the number and code during that process. They may have even had a small camera and took pictures.

3. The thief is not too bright--he put three charges on my card on the same day. If if he had been lucky to hit on another Democrat, this could have raised questions. Hitting on me was like putting three chairs for the devil at my table.

The moral of the story is this; pay close attention to your charges, more often than once a month when the statement comes. If the thief is just a fundraiser for the DNC, your problem may be manageable, but if the $5 donation is a test, and you fail to notice it, he may try go on to bigger and better things. The DNC's appetite is voracious...and as the mess inside the Beltway gets messier, that appetite for funds will expand exponentially.

Ten more shopping days until Christmas--MAY YOUR CELEBRATION OF THE BIRTHDAY OF THE KING NOT BE MARRED WITH THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF TOO MUCH STUFF. REMEMBER THE GRINCH STOLE ALL OF WHOVILLE'S CHRISTMAS STUFF, BUT HE DIDN'T GET AWAY WITH THEIR CHRISTMAS.
