KAKIAPHANY

A Prophet of the Ragged Middle Class goes to the Mountain to behold
THE NEW MESSIAH OF HOPE AND CHANGE turning buckets of
gold into a river of red ink.
"The beast, the symbol of human government and empire, of anti-Christian
states and culture generally, represented the Roman Empire of St. John's day,
and all other anti-Christian orders. The beast represents the totality of all
such empires in the ancient world , and all to come...
"The world is clearly Satan's messiah. Man is man's one and only savior for
humanism. The humanist therefore delights in the centralization of power into
the hands of human government, because this is his hope. The pretensions of
apostate culture are his glory and hope. The humanist holds to the limitless
possibilities of human culture and to the sovereignty of man's rule, 'Who is like
unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?'"
C.J. Ortiz quoting R.j. Rushdoony in "Restoring Spiritual Capital"
"Where there is no prophecy, the people cast off restraint; but happy are those who keep the law." Proverbs 29.18

HISTORY, HYSTERIA AND A BIT OF PROPHECY

NUMBER 197
HISTORY, HYSTERIA, AND A BIT OF PROPHESY
Once upon a time long ago in a land far away a ruler was waking every morning after a night of tossing and turning with diresome dreams. He remembered the dreams well in the morning and rehearsed them in excruciating detail with great emotion to all his court. But the wise men, magicians, seers, political advisors and priests could not interpret the dreams. The great ruler of all Egypt was at his wits end until he was told of a young slave boy, languishing in his dungeons, who had been known to interpret dreams with great wisdom and accuracy.
So Joseph, allowed his first bath in several years and dressed in a new suit, was presented to the ruler who went through the whole thing once more in great detail. “God is the interpreter of dreams,” said the young man, “I will just tell you what He says about this. God says, ‘Egypt will soon have seven years of great abundance followed by seven years of famine and want.’”
Needless to say the ruler was happy to hear what the dream meant, but greatly concerned about what was to happen and what he should do. “So tell me already,” he lamented in a slightly whiny voice, “what can I do?” The answer was a PLAN FOR HOPE AND CHANGE provided by Joseph, the wise young man. For seven years the ruler would collect a 20% tax of all the agricultural production of Egypt and store it securely. During the following seven years, the administration would sell it back to the starving Egyptians, for their money, their land, and their bodies as well.
At the end of 14 years, Pharaoh was happy--he owned everything outright. The people were happy--they had not all died and they all had a good jobs working for a king who was kind enough to let them keep 80% of the crops they grew and the livestock they raised on his land.
Fast-forward 3200 years to the United States of America, land of the free, more or less, and home of the brave, more or less. Amber waves of grain still wave, but bread is growing scarce because the grain is all being turned into gasoline. A great Bear Market is stomping around and ripping the pictures off the wall, the bankers have lent all their money to people who cannot pay it back. There is a great famine of credit in the land. The Pundits are all wailing “Woe is us, who will save us from the greed of the money-lenders.”
A new Joseph has appeared just in time--a skinny young lawyer from Illinois who seldom misses an opportunity to compare himself to Honest Abe Lincoln. He comes trailing clouds of glory, fresh from victory over the House of Clinton. The “skinny young lawyer from Illinois” part is one point of the comparison most agree on, all the other points are open to debate, some of it quite heated.
Swiftly anointed by the Chattering Classes as the NEW MESSIAH with a PLAN FOR HOPE AND CHANGE WHO WILL SET ALL THINGS IN ORDER WHEN HE COMES, the Skinny Young Lawyer from Illinois is soon elected to the highest office in the land and begins to carry out his plan.
“There will be 4 years of want in the land but Washington will print and distribute ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD so that no one will be without ready cash,” he proclaims confidently in prime time to all and sundry. “We will slay the Bear Market with our marvelous logic, bushels of money, and our irrepressible optimism.” Through magic unspecified he promises the second 4 years will be Years Of The Bull. Everything will come up roses.
The MESSIAH OF HOPE AND CHANGE will restore the years the locust has eaten, with compound interest. He will eliminate the deficit, balance the budget, and walk on water every third Saturday on national TV. Every pot will not only have a chicken in it, but will have a two and one half car garage in which to park, and the monthly house rent paid directly to the Government will be guaranteed to not exceed the permanent monthly stimulus paid to every citizen by that same Government. Utopia is just around the corner and is already coming on fast.
The people bow to the superior wisdom beguiling eloquence of the young MESSIAH OF HOPE AND CHANGE WHO WILL TRULY SET ALL THINGS IN ORDER, and begin at once researching how to expand their share of ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD to a more comfortable level, something more like the Senators and Representatives have managed to stake out for themselves and their close friends.
Time passes and The United States achieves in just 8 years what took Egypt 14. Every material thing in the country, all the money in the country, and all the people in the country belong to the MESSIAH OF HOPE AND CHANGE and his helpers in the House and Senate. Of course there is one big difference; in Egypt, working the Pharaoh’s land, the people could keep 80% of what they produced and everyone felt comfortably middle class. In the United States, the effective tax rate is now 100% so everyone, except the governing elite of course, feels uncomfortably poor. “But at least we are all equal,” they say, “most of us any way.” Under their breaths they mutter, “Yet some are more equal than others.”
And oh, by the way, China totally owns America, lock, stock and barrel. There are disturbing rumblings in the East, rumors to the effect that China is getting nervous about its investments and will be soon demanding some adult supervision in Washington.
Finally, while the NEW MESSIAH OF HOPE AND CHANGE and his friends are sleeping like babies every night, all the rest of us are plagued nightly by diresome dreams.
