I have never been a fan of Patrick J. Buchanan, but I highly commend his latest book—STATE OF EMERGENCY, The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America.
No matter who is in charge in Washington, raw self-preservation will drive the dithering politicians on both sides of the aisle to resolve the mess in Iraq in the next two years. I am not nearly so confident that those who govern us will have the good sense and the rigid backbones required to solve the problems posed by open borders and unlimited immigration from the south.
Here is some food for your post-turkey-feast thinking.
The Mexican government is deliberately pushing its poor and unemployed into the United States and urging them to take U.S. Citizenship to advance Mexico’s strategic national interests.
The myth of America as a melting pot is just that--a myth. We are presently being overwhelmed by Hispanic immigrants—4500 a day cross the Arizona border alone. Whether legal and illegal, most have no intention of assimilating, no incentives to assimilate, and are under no pressure from our government to do so. Vincente Fox is exporting his poor and discontented masses to the United States--giving them handbooks and maps to help them cross illegally, and reaping their remittances home to the tune of $16 billion a year, Mexico's second largest source of hard currency after oil. In this process, the Democrats are importing voters, and the Republicans are pandering to the lusts of big business for cheap labor.
Mexican children are taught in their schools that America stole Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California from them back in the 1800’s. They are taught that they have every right today to take the Southwest back. This they are busy doing--culturally, socially and politically. In a 2002 poll, Mexicans were asked, “Do you agree or disagree that the territory of the United States Southwest belongs to Mexico?” 58% agreed.
The American establishment is too paralyzed by ideology and guilt to defend the republic. If our leaders are not compelled to act to stop this invasion, a merger of the United States and Mexico into a hybrid “Mexamerica,” and the end of our country as we know it appears to be inevitable.
This book has some strong opinions, but the bulk of the material here is a wide-ranging survey of publicly available facts—facts that all thinking Americans should at least consider before they form their own opinion about how their representatives in Washington should deal with the immigration problem.
Given our general tendency to procrastinate until it is too late, I would suggest the acquisition and use of a good course in conversational Spanish on tape or CD would be a wise investment.

TWO PRAYERS

NUMBER 169
Two Prayers
The Tax Collector…
God be merciful to me,
The sinner!
The Pharisee…
Within myself I bend my knee
And make a humble prayer for me:
To me be peals of affirmation,
All hands extend congratulation.
To me be wisdom, glory, power--
In me has learning come to flower.
I am trim and richly dressed,
Young and cool and never stressed.
I crunch granola, organic cukes,
I save the whales, deplore the nukes.
I spend much time in just relating--
I'm also good at roller-skating.
My head's on straight, my pecs are fine,
I always choose the proper wine.
All in all I'm quite a prize,
Every virtue super-size.
So grant me, Lord, more of the same,
Because I ask in my good name.
